Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again? I'm sorry--may I ask you a question? Why is there a line of guys passed out everywhere you go? If you were a triangle, you would be acute one! What's your favorite temple? Well, I'm looking at mine. Do you like cats? Because I'd like you to take meowt for Valentine's Day. I heard you're good in algebra. Can you replace my X without asking me Y? I was blinded by your beauty. I'm going to need your name and number for insurance purposes.

Sledding Activity Report It was sunny, but extremely cold, on the day that we had the activity. About forty people came, and we had lots of fun. At one point, we built the biggest snowball anyone can imagine - it was roughly 5 feet tall - and we pushed it up the hill, only to send it hurtling back down. We also built a ramp down at the bottom of the sledding hill, and we had lots of fun with that. The activity ended with some nice hot chocolate brought by the Student Council Advisor, Brother Free. Overall, it was a great success. We definitely missed everyone that didn't come, and hope you had fun elsewhere! Regards, Spencer Evans
Temple Baptism Goals As announced, Liahona has set a goal to fulfill a staggering number of 6,027 names in the Temple. Such a number can not be done on mere whim, and that is why we need everyone's assistance, both Academy and DE students alike. Go to the Temple and do the work for your ancestors! You will reap rewards both in Heaven and on Earth!
His Encompassing Love By Rebekah Marble and Spencer Evans As Valentine’s Day approaches, we often talk about cute guys and girls, the fun or the complications of our love life (or as close as Mormon teens get to it), and our empty plans for that 14th day in February. There are also the people who don’t talk about it at all and never even consider the holiday. If any of these descriptions fit you, then consider setting aside Valentine’s Day to love others. “Wait,” you say. “Isn’t that what everyone does anyway?" That's true, but it's not just about loving your mom or a friend who catches your fancy. Asking God how you can love and serve everyone is the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day. God loves us, and His love is infinite. God sent His son to suffer for our sins. He does not look at our outward appearance and societal status as a baseline for His relationship with us. God’s love encompasses us completely! Have you felt it? If you have not felt God’s incomprehensible love, then we encourage you to go to Him in prayer and ask for that blessing. When you let God speak to you, He will speak to you in adoration. “Seek and ye shall find.” (Luke 11:9) A friend of ours gave a seminary devotional on John Bytheway’s lesson of Favor-ites. God had Nephites and Lamanites, and now, He has Favor-ites. However, He doesn't choose them. They choose to be His Favor-ites themselves! If you have the desire to be a Favor-ite, go to God, do as He commands, and He will find favor with you just as he did with Nephi. Anticipate a Valentine’s Day where, instead of thinking of yourself, you think of all others. For a greater understanding of God’s love, we challenge you to read President Uchtdorf’s talk titled, “The Love of God.” We hope you find your Favor-ite person this Valentine’s day!
