Christmas is a time of the year that stirs up many memories. For some, it is a time of joy and happiness, to experience all the season has to offer. Most people have images of families gathering together around the tree laughing, singing, eating, and exchanging gifts when we picture "Christmas". The people we serve with LINC don't always get that picture. Some are struggling to make ends meet. Others are homeless and trying to stay warm. Some children have to face a holiday knowing one of their parents are in jail. Many of our families will not celebrate all together. Many won't be able to afford presents for each other and don't know what they will eat that day.
Thankfully, through the ministry of LINC San Antonio and all of our wonderful volunteers and supporters, those families will know the true meaning of Christmas. They will know that Jesus has come and has promised to come again. They will know the joy of the season through the birth of our Savior. And, they will know that God's love includes them just as much as the large happy families with big meals and presents under the tree. God does not give his love based on economic status. He gives his love freely to ALL. LINC San Antonio spreads this message of hope and joy at Christmastime, and every day of the year.
If you are finding yourself extra blessed this holiday season, we encourage you to take a look around and see who nearby may need an extra blessing. The widow next door? The single mom at church? A family who cannot be with their loved ones? The hungry man on the corner?
How can you share the joyful message that God's love is for all this holiday season? Contact LINC San Antonio if you need help carrying out your idea! We would love to help you to be a blessing to others!
