January 2017 Theme: Seeking first the Kingdom
Inspirational Monthly Devotional
Welcome to our COVENANT SEASON of KINGDOM TREASURES! This Series is themed: Seeking First the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is the seat of God's Government which has its influence here on earth through us who have been called. Jesus (who is the King of kings) came and made a way for us all to enter that Kingdom and become citizens of heaven. He therefore taught us to pray that the Kingdom of God should come and His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. He also said when we seek this Kingdom first all other things that we need will be added to us. He then went on to enumerate several such related blessings when he taught the Beatitudes. It is therefore mandatory for man to seek for this kingdom and when found, trade it for everything the world kingdoms offer us. The Kingdom of God is indeed the Kingdom of Treasures! May the Lord continue to help us all to SEEK FIRST THIS KINGDOM in Jesus name. Amen. Meditation: Col. 1:9-14; Matt. 6:9-10; Matt. 6:33; Matt. 5:1-12; Matt. 13:44-46; Mk. 10:17-21

The Kingdom of God has Kingdom citizens. Every kingdom citizen emigrated from a foreign country called the "dominion of darkness". The message of the kingdom of God is Jesus' main message. He came and announced that He brought the Kingdom of God to the world. Being born again is the passport of the Kingdom. It is a Kingdom of an invisible king reigning in the hearts of men. Whilst it may not be physically evident that we are citizens of this Heavenly Kingdom; our language and behaviour (informed by our transformed hearts) should make that known to the people around us always. Asking Jesus Christ into your life to be Lord and Saviour and living accordingly initiates and preserves our Kingdom Citizenship. Meditation: Ephesians 2:12-13, 18-19; Colossians 1:13-14 ; Matthew 4:12-17, 23; Phil. 3:1-21
An ambassador is a respected official that represents a nation in another nation. In that foreign land, the ambassador’s role is to reflect the official position of the sovereign body that gave him authority. As Christians, we are Christ’s or Kingdom ambassadors approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel and we must be totally honourable and exemplary in this role. Like earthly Ambassadors, we are not self appointed or self sponsored. We also have a written mandate in the scriptures and should not take offences against us in our line of duty as personal. We are sent individually to various spheres of life (through local assemblies as the diplomatic training centres) by God and it is expected that we are faithful towards both training and deployment. May the Lord continue to honour His word in our lives in Jesus' name. Amen. Meditation: II Cor. 5:17-20; I Thessalonians 2:4-12; Matthew 28:18-20

As Kingdom Citizens, one specific calling we have is to function as Royal Priesthood. The scripture says we are being built up a spiritual house, a holy Priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices. This comes with our admission into Kingdom Citizenship. As such there is a need for us to know what this means, celebrate the privilege of the office and understand our responsibilities in offering pleasing and acceptable sacrifices. As Royal Priesthood, we must walk in obedience, love, light, wisdom, truth, faith and humility amongst several other things. May the Lord continue to watch over His word to perform it in our lives in Jesus name. Amen. Meditation: I Peter 2:1-25; Exd. 19:5; Hebrews 5:1-6; Hebrews 7:1-3
Week 4 Royal Priesthood (Download audio message here)
The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of Treasures. Jesus said it is like when a person finds good pearls in a field and they go to sell all they have to purchase it. When Jesus Himself was born, the Scriptures say that wise men from the east sought for Him and worshipped Him as King with gold, frankincense and myrrh - symbolising His Royalty, Priesthood and Suffering respectively. His suffering (for our sakes) was willingly sacrificial. We also who have received Him are enjoined to offer up our bodies as living sacrifices holy and acceptable unto the Lord. We must willingly and sacrificially pursue righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Our sacrifice also includes: the offering of praise, walking in love and giving of precious resources. In all, this sacrificial lifestyle may be tough, but it's most rewarding. May the Lord Himself continue to help us develop the sacrificial kingdom lifestyle and reap His rewards in Jesus' name. Amen. Meditation: Rom. 12:1-21; Matt 2:1-2, 11; Romans 14:17-19; Matt. 13:44-46; Phil. 2:14-17
