I hope everyone enjoyed and stayed warm on our inclement weather day. When planning for summer vacation, please remember that for each snow day, another school day is added to the end of the school year. Therefore, the new tentative last day of school is May 23, 2018.
I want to take this opportunity to remind all parents the importance of reading with your student every night. As one of our Wildly Important Goals (WIGS), we aim to have 95% of our students reading the required minutes per week as set by their grade level. In both the first and second quarters, we missed our goal with only 67% of our students reading the required amount each week. Reading with your child every night directly impacts their reading achievement levels. I would love to see that 67% move to 95% for third quarter! I know we can do it!
Last week, your child brought home a TJ's Pizza fundraiser form. Please remember to sell those items to help our school! As your child finishes up their sales, send the order forms back to school. The last day to turn in order forms is next Wednesday, January 24th.
Movie Night is coming next Friday, January 26th. We will be showing "Despicable Me 3." This is a great opportunity to spend time with our child and your J.L. Mudd family! Doors open at 5:30pm, movie will begin at 6.
If you have any concerns or celebrations, please feel free to contact me at anytime. As always, if you have any celebrations or concerns, my door is always open.
