Dear INDUS Members,
It is my pleasure to inform that we have hosted yet another successful regional conference in Bangalore for our members in the south. It was a well-attended event with some great presentations from the top thought leaders in the IT industry.
The next conference is in Kolkata and all the members in the east are invited to attend for a content rich conference at the Lalit Great Eastern Hotel on 16th September’16. The Speaker panel has many eminent industry experts from ITC, SAIL, Graphite India, Mjunction, ISPAT and IBM. It is a great opportunity for you to interact with SAP Experts and other INDUS Members.
We have collaborated with SAP to bring to you the LIVE BUSINESS LEAGUE, an SAP S/4HANA initiative. The League is a playground of simulation games (ERPsim, by Baton Simulations) to bring alive the S/4HANA experience. The championship comprises 15 Matches to be played across 8 Cities. The winning teams will compete in regional rounds and subsequently the Grand Finale at SAP TechEd, Bengaluru from October 5 - 7, 2016.
We have also sent out a special invitation for TechEd Bangalore where all INDUS Members can avail passes at a discounted price.We are presenting the ACE awards in partnership with SAP again this year. Hope you have nominated your projects for the prestigious SAP ACE awards ceremony that is scheduled in November 2016.
I am also happy to inform that we will soon be relaunching the INDUS Website which will have a lot of features and functionalities that INDUS Members had suggested over the years.We have also made progress on the S/4 HANA whitepaper that we are working on. Ankush Kaura, CIO, DCM Shriram, came on board to help us understand the S/4 HANA implementation journey of a company with business portfolios as varied as their.
We welcome any feedback on the content and structure of our events/webinars or any other suggestion that helps this community run better.
INDUS Conclave South 2016
INDUS Conference- South 2016 was a successful event filled with great content for INDUS Members. We had top thought leaders from the IT industry present on this platform. The event was divided into two halfs. The first half had presentation on the latest trends and offerings from SAP. It was a good mix of SAP Executive presentation and customer success stories.
Attendees were welcomed by Mr. Manish Choksi, Chairman, INDUS. He also took them through the latest developments taking place at the INDUS. With The INDUS Secretariat in place, INDUS could do a lot more in terms of generating content and organizing event filled with such pertinent content. This also leads to INDUS becoming a paid community where members can select their level of participation.
This was followed by a very informative and engaging executive keynote by Dr. Wieland Schreiner, EVP - SAP AG. In his presentation he talked about S/4 HANA and SAP’s strategy in terms of digital transformation. He also highlighted the business values in terms of Digital transformation. Last but not the least, he talked about the core strategy of SAP where S/4 HANA is the digital core. This was followed by a demo by Priti Prabhoo from the S/4 HANA development team.
After this presentation, we had Raja Ukil, VP & CIO at Wipro present all the digital business solution they have adopted and developed in their organization to simplify their business processes. From reimagining their digital core to enabling real-time analytics he continued to share all the success stories.
These presentation were full of great content and the attendees needed a break to consume to process all the relevant info they had received. So, after breaking for coffee, we came back again for another session from out partner sponsors HP and IBM. Lavent Tavsanci from IBM described the SAP and IBM Partnership is accelerating innovation in the cloud. This was followed by a session by Ramu Raghavan from HP where he talked about solutions for live economy.
The last session before lunch was a crucial session on the GST, which is a historic landmark tax reform. Arun Subramanian, VP of globalization services at SAP Labs India talked about the Digital agenda, an overview of GST, benefits and opportunities of GST and SAP’s journey in the whole process.
Post lunch session included two hands on workshop for the attendees. One of the workshop was on GST Implementation. It was on the same lines as the GST Summit that happened last year. The second workshop was a design thinking workshop on how customers can build a digital blueprint for digital transformation.

Live Influence session during Digital Innovation Summit 2016
Digital Innovation Summit 2016 was a technical networking event, which took place on 2nd of August 2016 at SAP Labs India premises. The event was filled with enthusiast crowd from customers and partners community. The event paved way for trending topics, which catered to the need of business. There was full house for all the sessions and one could experience the coffee corner discussions, doubts getting clarified by experts, networking..
In midst of top notch sessions delivered by senior executives from SAP, there was a informal Design thinking pod setup, which enabled customers to get an overview of current and upcoming features related to the emerging trends and customer demand topics space like S/4 HANA, IoT, Fiori, et al.Live Influence Pod was an open format of discussion and brainstorming, Sessions were setup for a 45mins pitch-in, wherein the respective topic's product expert would address the participants with the objective of the discussion
current situation, future plans of SAP development in a big picture. After a 20mins pitch-in of topic, the forum was open for audience brainstorming and discussion.
Lateral thinking patterns were initiated by Design thinking coach enabling a brainstorming and discussion. Thought processes were captured in stickies and pasted to a chat for later analysis, classification and prioritization. The acquired results were later discussed with development for
Followed by Product Experts addressing the audience related to their topics, There was an experience sharing session delivered from customer Deloitte. Mr. Murali Srinivasan did share his experience on Fiori for S/4HANA and there was a good interactions and Q&A for this session.
The sessions ended with a very positive response and lead generation to further collaboration. The brainstorming ideas were captured, categorized and revisited for possible backlog for developments.

1. Implement the correct procedure (TAXINN).
As communicated by SAP earlier, only TAXINN is supported.
2. Minimum Support Pack level for ERP each release
