Welcome to The Friday Five
The Synergy Gradebook offers a variety of features and for upper elementary through high school teachers. Beyond standard features like entering grades, weights, and pulling grade reports. You can also include comments and attach assignments so that students who miss assignments can access them online right from their online portals. To learn more about using Synergy, visit the CCSD Instructional Technology Depatrment's tutorial page.
The Cobb Teaching and Learning System (CTLS) serves as a centralized location to help you find the digital resources you need for your day-to-day work. In it you can access key CCSD resources like Synergy and RI/MI, deliver and analyze student assessment data, participate in a Professional Learning Course, and more. Its development and offerings grow with each passing day.
Hello New Teachers! Welcome to Cobb! Welcome to one of the largest, most diverse districts in the nation. As a new member of our team, here are five things that should help make your first year as a member of the Cobb County School District one that is meaningful and successful in your eyes.
CTLS, Your One-Stop Shop
Whether you have been teaching for twenty years, twenty days, or twenty minutes, there are new things that will come your way in joining a new district such as Cobb. We encourage you to document your journey so that you can look back upon this year to see how you have grown as a professional. You can use resources as analog and as private as a hand-written journal, or as public as a blog or vlog.
Of course, should you share your experiences in a manner that best represents you professionally and does not hit upon any ethical landmines.

Document Your Journey
Social media can be useful for more than just cat videos.
Believe it or not, there is an entire community of educators and related thought leaders spending time on some of your favorite social media channels. Within the CCSD, we have many teachers, principals, and district leaders who regularly post thoughtful and uplifting articles, pictures, and thoughts on Twitter. Join in on the conversations by joining our periodic CCSD Twitter chat, #CobbChat, once a month.
Did you know that the Cobb County School District has its own secured video service? Think of it like YouTube, except only for CCSD employee use. Using your badge ID number (Last, First, and Middle Initial + numbers) and your password, you can log in to find pre-made videos ranging from elementary math strategies to the Superintendent's kickoff speech from last year. You can even upload your own educational videos. Click here to visit Streaming Cobb and take a look for yourself!
