My name is Claire Phelan and I cook professionally as Cooking with Claire, LLC. Cooking with Claire, based in Old City, Philadelphia, is a private cooking and catering service that focuses on connecting people through personalized, intimate events featuring healthy and interesting meals.

Two of my biggest passions have always been food and hospitality- I love eating, I love cooking for others, and I love connecting people. I learned all the basic cooking skills from my mother growing up, and taught myself how to cook for real when I was in college, trapped in the middle of nowhere with the ranked 9th worst college cafeteria in the country. Around then I also started a tradition of regular themed dinner parties - a hobby I expanded upon in 2015 by throwing pop-up dinners in the NYC area for friends and strangers alike. While I just did the first dinner for fun, I was met with an unexpected volume of gratitude and future interest, so I now work professionally as a chef who caters, teaches in-home basic cooking lessons, and works intimate and personalized dining events!

SQUID INK RISOTTO WITH PUMPKIN CREAM
nutty risotto with parmesan shavings & wild mushrooms, drizzled with a roasted and then slow-cooked pumpkin & balsamic vinegar sauce.
CIDER-BRINED & HERB-RUBBED PORK LOIN
pork loin brined overnight in sparkling cider, rubbed with olive oil, garlic, thyme, rosemary, mixed pepper & smoked salt, and slow-roasted. (vegetarian alternative features mixed roasted mushrooms.) served on a bed of roasted root veg.

brussels sprouts sprinkled with fish sauce & freshly-ground pepper, roasted & sprinkled with bonito flakes.
