A mainly west to east flow will keep colder air from moving south toward Ohio during much of the first half of November.
More of our air will start over the Pacific Ocean instead of Canada, which will contribute to milder temperatures. The weather could shift during the second half of the month to a pattern which will allow more cold air from Canada to move across the Great Lakes.
When the temperature is averaged for the entire month, it will end up being above normal.
Although the air from the Pacific Ocean is moist to begin with, much of the water falls out as rain or snow over the western U.S.
As a result, the air is pretty dry by the time it reaches Ohio. Several storms are likely to bring rain to the state when the storm track shifts later in the month.

Meeting called to order at 11:35 by president-elect, Daniel Huggett.
Minutes from the August Member Meeting were reviewed. Motion by Molly John to approve minutes as presented. Second by Ellen Gallucci Purcell. Motion carried unopposed.
Ellen reported that invoices will be sent to participants of the Home & Garden Show and that member renewals would be sent in November. This concluded the treasurer's report.
HOME & GARDEN SHOW REPORT
Initial plans for the 2017 show were recently submitted and final plans are due in the very near future. The 2017 event will take place after Valentine's Day and CLA has approximately 12 member gardens featured in the event.
OUTDOOR LIVING AND LANDSCAPING TOUR REPORT
Molly reported that the 2017 event will take place on August 19th. We would like to see more spaces next year. Gardens do not need to be large projects. Attendees are interested in seeing spaces of all sizes.
Intent to participate forms will be coming soon.
Fred Blythe indicated that voting members received notice of a proposed change to the Code of Regulations pertaining to Home & Garden Show and Outdoor Living & Landscaping Tour committees (see next page for language).
Question regarding how the chair will be elected and if an even number of committee members, how will a tie be broken. The committee will select the chair. If a tie vote occurs within the committee, the chair will make the final decision.
Motion was made to accept the proposed changes to the Code of Regulations by Bryan Joyce. Motion was seconded by Molly John. Motion carried unopposed.
No other old busines.
