A mainly west to east flow will keep colder air from moving south toward Ohio during much of the first half of November. More of our air will start over the Pacific Ocean instead of Canada, which will contribute to milder temperatures. The weather could shift during the second half of the month to a pattern which will allow more cold air from Canada to move across the Great Lakes. When the temperature is averaged for the entire month, it will end up being above normal. Although the air from the Pacific Ocean is moist to begin with, much of the water falls out as rain or snow over the western U.S. As a result, the air is pretty dry by the time it reaches Ohio. Several storms are likely to bring rain to the state when the storm track shifts later in the month.
