Dear J.L. Mudd Families, What a nice week we are finishing today! It started off right with a Volunteer Breakfast for our parent volunteers on Monday morning. It was great to be able to share our appreciation for all the assistance our parent volunteers provide. Then, we were shown an AMAZING performance by our Choir Cubs. This choir concert was such a cute show put on by our young, talented singers. Tuesday evening, we welcomed incoming kindergarten students and families to join us for New Kindergarten Story Time. We had about 25 students attend, and there are another 25 students registered to attend the other date this event will be offered, May 1st. At Story Time, incoming kindergarten students receive a bag with many fun, educational tools to help prepare them for their first year in elementary school. Our week wrapped up with a first grade field trip to the St. Louis Zoo today. They had some wonderful weather as they walked around and learned about ecosystems and animal adaptations. As always, if you have any concerns or celebrations, please don't hesitate to contact me. Most Sincerely, Stephanie Mountain

Running Club News Congratulations to J.L. Mudd’s Running Club! We really enjoyed having your child join us this year. We are excited to announce that each child read 26 books, participated in 26 good deeds, and completed 26 miles. At our last club meeting date on Monday, 4/23, we met as a whole group to run the final mile of our “marathon”. A big thank you to those parents that were able to join us and cheer on our panther cubs. Upon completion, they were presented with an extra special medal of achievement.
