The Book Lovers Club of the Basic Education Department of Holy Cross of Davao College visited and toured the University Library on January 08, 2018.
The first 2 months of 2018 showed a minimum number of readers admitted, and population served at the Circulation counter because of the decrease in enrollment as there are only junior and senior students for the current academic year. Among the service areas, the Multi-Media Center accommodated a good number of University constituents, alumni, and visitors. Terminal clearances of both faculty, and students taking their leaves-of-absence (LOA) were appropriately signed. Library attendees and users who have inquired on different information requirements were either properly guided to the right resources, or provided direct responses. A UPMFI 3rd year BACA student rendered 20 hours of service by producing an educational video about Library programs and services. The video is still in-process as of this publication. A Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) was provided to a BSBio student doing her thesis on “Transpiration in Eggplants,” while a FoodTech student had her resource materials on “Anti-Cancer Properties of Seaweeds.” Emails sent and social media are the latest fronts utilized by the University Library to constantly update everyone on what to expect from its information provider and knowledge repository.
The All UP Academic Employees Union (AUPAEU) conducted its Strategic Planning and Forum with AUAPEU National President Carl Marc Ramota, at the Multi-Media Center on February 19, 2018.

The University Library is the only fully-equipped facility in the campus. It has almost everything you need for instruction, research and public service, except the lingering internet connection. Despite this predicament, the Library has the fully-furnished Computer and Internet Center with 21 iMac units. Another relevant and very useful part of the Library facility is the Multi-Media Center. It has the capability to capture and record everything that is going on in every event or activity. The chart above illustrates that the Multi-Media Center accommodates conduct of classes as there are faculty who believe that the Center is the most conducive place in the University for teaching and learning. A number of faculty chose the venue for their film viewing, theses presentations, and a whole lot more. During educational visits and tours, the University Librarian entertains visitors with a library orientation detailing all that the Library can offer. Meetings, planning sessions, seminars, forums and conferences organized by both administrators and student organizations, are done conveniently when the weather condition is favorably cool. If not, the participants would go restless due to inadequate air-conditioning provisions. Reservations for use of the Multi-Media are done through telephone calls, emails, and personal scheduling at the Center.
