Women in Ministry
Acts 5: 38-39 38 So, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or endeavor is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.” In every generation, great causes confronting the church are pressed for decisions. Perhaps there is no lengthier or more controversial issue in the church today than the issue of women in ministry. First and foremost, I want to declare that that which is rooted in God will live, for you can’t really argue or withstand The Anointing of God’s Holy Spirit. Preventing women from using their “gifts” is an injustice, immobilizing their divine call to serve The Lord and impact the lives of countless others. Traditions have abused, restrained, and even paralyzed women, but the gospel was never intended to bar them from the liberties that God has provided them. The Bible reveals that the Holy Spirit empowers women also to do mighty exploits for the kingdom of God. In the above passage of scripture, the Apostles were being persecuted by the religious leaders because they disagreed with their doctrine regarding Jesus Christ being The Messiah, the teaching of The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and the teaching of the Baptism of The Holy Spirit. However, the miracles performed were totally undeniable and the persecution against them by the religious leaders wouldn’t deter The Apostles. In his uncertainty or indecision, Gamaliel was persuaded to cease from opposing or threatening them. Regarding their movement, he declared, “that if it were of human origin, it would come to nothing; if of God, they could not overthrow it.” Just as women have always worked, always taught, and always discipled, they have always believed in God and always followed Jesus. Women have and will always be found Teaching. Preaching. Speaking. Writing. Communicating. Leading. And Empowering as they have been supernaturally equipped by the Holy Spirit to impact the world for Jesus. "This Global Fire edition is dedicate to all of the Women in Ministry around the world doing the Will of God to build His Kingdom, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, and being led by the Holy Spirit." -Apostle Dr. Andrew Bills
Apostle Dr. Andrew Bills
This month we want to feature an awesome woman of God who is celebrating 44 years of ministry that has taken her all over the world. She is an anointed Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, and U.S. Director of the Prayer Mountain Ministries. Her name is Betty Green Suddreth. You can follow her on bettygreenministries.com or her Facebook page. Betty was the sixth child of 13 children born to strict fundamentalist parents who raised them in the “Church of God,” in a non-emotional and regimented household. She was very artistic and opinionated, yet never complained about having to “mother” her younger siblings or the harsh punishments given out when she messed up in any way. Betty was born with a call of God on her life, her earliest memories were always about God and trying to take God at His Word. At the age of 10, she would spend hours by the neighboring stream trying to launch herself from the rocks and walk on the water like Peter did. One night, as she walked home from church, she gave her heart to the Lord and then, several years later, at fifteen, she got baptized in the Holy Spirit and set out to learn about fasting and praying for the gifts of the Spirit in earnest. At Church she met the worship and praise leader whom she later married. Betty became part of the praise team and, together with her husband, they mentored five teenagers, teaching them how to play instruments and sing in the praise band. By the age of twenty-three, she had had 6 kids within 6 years. When her youngest baby was only 3 days old, her husband walked out on her and their children. Betty’s husband was a singer and performer and was surrounded by “adoring fans” constantly and he was wooed away from her. He left because he’d had an affair with another teen, got her pregnant, and decided it was better with her. With only a fifth grade education, all she knew how to do was keep house and sing at the Church. Left destitute, Betty managed to get a job in a cotton factory and in a restaurant as a waitress to make enough money to feed her kids and to pay for rent. She was a quick learner but, after a few years of this, she started to bleed badly. Doctors found cancer in her womb, did an emergency operation to remove it, and then they sent her home to die because they felt that there was nothing else to do.

State Welfare was going to take her kids because she was dying - they thought – so she agreed to let her ex-husband have their kids only until she was well again. When Betty finally got well enough to retrieve her kids, she dropped by her ex-husband’s house, but he informed her that he didn’t want to pay the child support. Before she knew it, he got a gun out and told her to leave – without her kids. Again, she was knocked for a loop because her kids were her life. Betty knew that the only way she could get her kids back was by being able to support them but she was too weak to hold down a regular job. Betty remembered that when she would sing country songs she was quite good. So, she decided to get a job singing country and one of her girlfriends at the restaurant joined her and they moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While applying for a job at a night club, a lady interviewer gave her a spiked mix drink to loosen her up and convinced her to audition for a go-go dancing position. Betty started at $145 a week and, within a few months, was earning $500 per week as a striptease dancer. While she became very good at performing, she would get drunk on wine to do it. Betty became a star with name recognition, but she felt she needed to move away. So, after a few years, she moved to Miami, Florida to start over. Betty did try to get out of that lifestyle because it was rough on her family-life so, she got a job as a bartender for Big Daddy’s Bar. About 6 months later, they sold the bar and, once again, she needed a job fast. Stripping was fast money and easy, so Betty went back. In Miami Beach, Betty had her own show for a while. Betty’s picture was in the Miami Herald weekly playing in big places where big names would hang out (like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin) then, she worked at the French review on the beach close to Fountain Blue Hotel. The Miami Herald ran an article on Betty, (Satan’s Angel) who was also calling herself “Miss Vickki Lee from Big D.” The article said: “This Texas beauty started in show biz as a country singer, but now has traded in her guitar G-string for the one she wears and has gone from easy on the ears to easy on the eyes and is on her way to becoming one of the top exotics in the country. At 5 feet 5 inches, measuring 36 – 24 – 37, the climax of her show comes as she imitates wild love making with her illicit, secret lover – the devil – and it really is some climax!” Betty was in high demand because she could get men to spend a lot of money at her shows just by sitting down and talking to them and then they would go home to their wives or girlfriends and have sex. During this time, Betty met this guy who would spend thousands of dollars per night when in town. Al liked Betty and before she knew it, he tricked her into marrying him. Betty stayed married to Al because he was a caring man and a good business man. He treated Betty and her kids well and took good care of them. Betty learned real quick that her husband gave her and her family security that she didn’t even know she had been looking for. Unfortunately, Betty had a drinking problem because she needed a drink to function at all and to keep up the pretense that she was in control of her life. She managed to convince herself that it wasn’t out of hand yet so she didn’t do anything about it for a little while longer. Her husband was worried about it because they had three of her kids and the baby was now 8 years old. Al bought Betty a motor home, paid for Betty’s new wardrobe, and they booked her in country clubs to dance and she went on the circuit from Miami to Nashville, up North in Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois. Around to all states, then home to Miami where Betty’s booking agent booked her a big job in Las Vegas. Since Betty was going big time in Las Vegas, she decided to have her breasts enlarged from 36B to 40’s. Betty didn’t tell the Doctor that she was a bleeder and that she had drank the night before, so, during the surgical procedure, blood sprayed everywhere, including all over the Doctor’s glasses and Betty’s face.
It was at that time the devil spoke to her and said: “you know that I told you not to tell the doctor about bleeding (not to tell him or he won’t give you a boob job) – “well that’s a lie (to you), I just killed you and that’s your blood and you’re dying!” Satan laughed and laughed even as the doctor worked to save Betty’s life. The doctor had performed a miracle because he didn’t just save her life, according to Betty, he had given her the most beautiful set of boobs she had ever seen. When Betty finally came home she had to take penicillin for 6 weeks to kill a Staph infection. Betty had plenty of time on her hands as she was not working, so she took a good hard look around her on Thanksgiving Day. She saw her big 60 ft. motor home, a doting husband, a nice house, four of her kids back now, and she was famous! Betty had her own shows in Las Vegas like she’d always dreamed, and she had made it big! Little did she know, in a few hours she would die! Betty was in the bedroom with her hubby, dancing and cuddling with him. They were going to make love, so she said: “Honey, I am going to jump in the shower before you give me my penicillin shot.” However, because she wasn’t paying attention, the needle unexpectedly went into her backside. The medicine from the injection ran up her spine like an explosion in her head and she saw all kind of lights and a voice spoke to her: “This is it…you are dying!” Betty screamed: “No, no I am too young to die.” Satan replied: “Sorry, you have had your chance.” She fell across the bed as her heart was bursting and she could feel the blood racing and coursing up and out through her nose and mouth. As Betty’s husband called the ambulance, Betty came out of her body to see the scene taking place below her. A black silhouette of a man picked her up off the bed and she spoke to him and said: “Satan, you lied to me again – you said there was no here-after. That’s my body on the bed, what is this?” Betty felt her spiritual body, but she couldn’t talk to the living people. Suddenly, another spirit came into the room. This Spirit picked her up and in seconds they were before God. Betty stood naked before God and she saw 30 years of her life flash before her like a movie. One of the things she vividly remembers was all the times throughout her life that voice that would tell her to read her Bible that laid on her coffee table. Yet somehow, she always found something else that needed her attention at that moment – the babies needed changing, cooking, cleaning etc. Betty realized then that she was guilty of not knowing Jesus the Word. God specifically asked her: “How well do you know Jesus?” At that moment Jesus stood there not as a “man” but as the “Word of God” .Betty didn’t know Jesus was the Word. She sadly shook her head and an angel picked her up and dropped her out of Heaven. As she was falling through outer darkness, it was so cold, black, and lonely. Then she saw these awful creatures coming for her, they were trying to tie her hands and feet with something like sea weeds dripped in motor oil. Suddenly, she was hanging over hell - oh, it was like fire from a volcano shooting up.

Hell was so full of teens, thousands were being brought in. Satan, with his lies and trickery is working hard to kill as many of our next generation of kids as he can. Betty started crying earnestly now: “Jesus, oh Jesus” and suddenly, she was turned completely over hell – she looked up and saw a light. She kept her eyes on it until it got to her. It sucked her up into itself and burned out all her (bad) habits, sins – she was set free – totally free this time! That was Betty’s wake-up call to change her ways and she did. Ever since that day, she’s turned her back on sin and hasn’t looked back. Now, everywhere that Betty goes, she tells everyone about Jesus Christ. Betty was now a new creature in God’s eyes but still lacking in education. Her language was foul and unclean and she didn’t dare open her mouth for fear curse words would escape. She had the Word of God read to her day-and-night for seven years to completely transform her mind and body and help her find God’s direction for her life. Betty enrolled in Hotel & Store Management and Business classes and later attended computer and math classes. Betty spent five years in Morris Cerullo’s Bible schools to learn how to become God’s vessel to further His Kingdom and tell others what He had done for her. It doesn’t matter if you are hell-bound (we all are until we choose Jesus) – God still loves you and can save you if you want. She has spoken to Presidents and prisoners alike telling her story and that Jesus loves them and that the 180-degree turn is possible for them too, no matter their station in life. Betty became a Business woman, Evangelist, Bible teacher, Pastor, Prophet, Crusade, Seminar & Conference Speaker on Marriage, Prayer & Fasting, Spiritual Warfare, and whatever else God tells her to. She’s been a guest speaker on: 700 Club, TBN, CBS, and NBC TV Networks to name a few. For 30 years she has appeared on TV and now she is life-streaming her bible school. In her 44 years of ministry she has founded 50 bible schools, 5 Prayer Mountains, and 5 Churches and was Lead Pastor in her own church for 20+ years literally “feeding” her flock with spiritual and real food out of her own pocket. Betty worked with many notable ministers, like Dr. Lester Sumrall and Morris Cerullo, being a guest speaker at their various meetings. Betty has ordained about 5000 ministers, written 33 books and later this year, she will be honored with a Doctorate. Betty is considered the Spiritual Mother of the Holy Spirit Broadcasting Network (HSBN.TV) because Betty prophesied to the founder, Apostle Dr. Andrew Bills, 30 years ago that God would use him in television and that he would go worldwide. Hundreds of thousands have heard her testimony by way of the TV, radio, articles, newspapers, preaching, and one-on-one. She has made guest appearances on the Maury Povich Show and other national or worldwide programs. She continues to tell her story to anyone. Recently, Pastor Betty has come full circle back to Florida, ministering in her nephew’s Assembly of God church in St. Petersburg, Suncoast Cathedral (mysuncoastchurch.com), and their Bible School.
Certainly, the ministry that she is most proud of, and feels is her life’s calling and would pursue full-time, is that of founding and enlarging the Prayer Mountain Ministry. For fifteen years she traveled with Dr. Ja Shil Choi– a South Korean Christian Prayer warrior, who was also Rev. Paul Yonggi Cho’s mother in law (Pastor of the largest A.G. Church in the world). In 1984 Dr. Choi met with President Reagan and was given a mandate to build a Prayer Mountain in every U.S. state. When Dr. Choi (Betty calls her Mama Choi) went home to Jesus in 1993, she laid her mantel of anointing upon Betty and she has opened many Prayer Mountains and Bible Schools all over the world. Betty is a faith-filled, anointed, and in-demand Christian speaker still traveling to preach and teach and pray. She says she wants to be keep right on preaching until she opens her eyes in heaven! Pastor Betty, or "Aunt Betty" as she is affectionately known, is still founding bible schools, speaking at conferences, running prayer and fasting retreats, and teaching the Word of God through her bible schools to the next generation of believers. All six of her children are part of her life and have grown up and blessed her with seventeen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. At the grand age of 80, she is still a force to be reckoned with and a wonderful saint to emulate and she would like to hear from you, pray with you, and tell you more about Jesus. Blow Away the Fog of Doubt
Do you want to know what is ahead? Does your way seem blocked or clouded by questions? By praying scripture, we turn on the light of truth and this small step forward invites God’s presence to overtake the shadows. We do battle God’s way. When we obediently put on our ‘spiritual armor’ and fight the battle, we stand firm in the authority of Christ. The truth is, we are ‘more than conquerors,’ through the price He paid for us; we claim the victory that’s already won. I pray we will understand the new identity Christ gave us when He took over our lives. “God made us alive together with Christ, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Eph. 2:6-7 What’s so amazing about grace? Everything. As believers, God’s grace engulfs us every single moment, but in the flurry of life, we overlook how involved God’s grace actually is in the minute details of our lives. I’ve been having numerous ‘grace encounters’ lately. God has already paved the way for me: “I have set the Lord always before us. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8 Some of you might not know how you can even take the next step in life, let alone, walk down the driveway to pick up the daily newspaper. It’s when we understand that we cannot walk another inch forward without God’s grace -- grace becomes most precious and most glorious. God will give you exactly what you need from Him. “The Lord has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” 2 Cor. 12:9 NASB Here’s how: Pray the Warrior’s Prayer Daily ~ Want increased impact? Pray the Warrior’s prayer every day. Jesus has already won the battle. Now put on the Armor of God by praying each piece of the armor over yourself with God’s word. Our war is not against flesh and blood, you are victorious through scriptural prayers. Here’s the Warrior’s Prayer straight from Ephesians 6:14-17
Sheryl Giesbrecht Turner
Heavenly Father, Your Warrior prepares for battle. Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on The whole armor of God! I put on the Girdle of Truth! May I stand firm in the truth of Your word So I will not be a victim of Satan’s life. I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness! May it guard my heart from evil So I will remain pure and holy, Protected under the Blood of Jesus Christ. I put on the Shoes of Peace! May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel So Your peace will shine through me And be a light to all I encounter. I take the Shield of Faith! May I be ready for Satan’s fiery darts of Doubt, denial, and deceit So I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat. I put on the Helmet of Salvation! May I keep my mind focused on You So Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts. I take the Sword of the Spirit! May the two-edged sword of Your Word Be ready in my hands So I can expose the tempting words of Satan. By faith Your Warrior has put on the whole armor of God! I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory! Amen “It’ll Be Okay: Finding God When Doubt Hides the Truth” - March 2018 (Redemption Press) “Doubt can be a tool in God’s hand wielded, in the lives of those who allow it for the strengthening, not the destruction of faith.” ~ George MacDonald It’s hard to keep praying or walking forward in faith when you don’t get answers or see God’s guiding hand. Those difficult times often bring doubts which cloud our perspective. Does God see me? Does he hear me? Does he care? Many Christians are afraid to admit to having doubts— even to themselves—because they confuse doubt with unbelief. Take heart! Don’t be afraid to doubt. Addressing doubts in your real-life struggles will bring joyful discoveries. The intriguing and notable accounts of biblical ‘doubters’ such as Abraham, Thomas, Gideon, Rahab, Naomi, and Jonah show us that God is not threatened by our fears and questions, nor is he threatened by logic, science, or emotions. Recognizing and dealing with our apprehensions will eventually bring spiritual strength and new life. Let God help you clear away the fog of doubt to let the light of truth shine through. In every circumstance and situation in which we move from doubt to belief, we will find and receive an even more secure faith -- a firm foundation that will withstand any storm.

The Five Facets of Dr. Dionne N. Arceneaux
A diamond’s brilliance is best seen in the reflection of the light around it; yet every diamond has some small inclusions that make it imperfect, yet still beautiful. Much like a diamond, I am beautifully flawed. I have survived witnessing a murder attempt against my mother, domestic violence, sexual and emotional abuse, rejection, infidelity, and even contemplated taking my own life. So far on this journey of life, I have been given many opportunities to develop my character, see miracles, and learn to trust in the Lord. I asked a few people to describe me in only five words...the five words almost all of them used were integrity, faithful, loving, trusting, and giving. While they agreed on the strength of my trust and personal character, they all agreed that it is my trust in the Lord that shines through most brilliantly. The bible says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8). Having overcome so much adversity in my life, I learned that I can put my hope, faith and trust in the Lord. Yes, man has let me down time and time again, but I have come to realize that many people are just struggling with their own addictions, past hurts or their own hardships. I have learned that oftentimes, people who are hurting hurt others, including the ones they love. Those who have hurt me in the past, or who may even do so in the future, either do not know, or really do not care as they may be focused on their own agendas. Once I accepted, I mean REALLY accepted the love of God and the love He has for me, everything changed. Coming to understand that Jesus loves me and sacrificed His life for me to give me life and life more abundantly, then I cannot allow the actions of others to steal that abundance – be it in my mind, my heart or my body. I know God cannot cross the will of man, so while some choose to use their free will to violate the will of another human being, I have chosen to be SOLD OUT for Jesus and to see His blessings, protection, provision and promises all around me. Yes, I have overcome many adversities, but I have also seen great miracles, including the birth of my daughter, 3 months premature, who not only survived, but is a thriving 21-year-old, with no effects of premature birth. God also brought me to an incredible church (19 years ago), Living Word Bible Church, Mesa, AZ. The Pastors told me my first week that they would always love me more as a person, than anything I would ever do as an employee.
Over the years they have put great actions behind those words. When I first started working at Living Word in 1999, I had two young children, my daughter 3, my son 6 weeks old. Our only transportation was riding the city bus or occasionally borrowing a car. These amazing pastors gave me a car in addition to furniture for an apartment. They encouraged me to finish my degree. That one degree would later become four, a journey which culminated with a doctorate degree in education. Another miracle just this past year, occurred after a grease fire in my home, just before the holidays. My feet were burned, but my home and family were spared...Praise God! Some of the lessons I have learned along the way is to be kind, because those you touch will be impacted profoundly. I’ve learned the importance of being a giver; because it keeps my heart soft and open to receive. I’ve learned to be faithful, because my word MUST be my bond, so my integrity can stand true, so those around me know they can depend on me. The greatest of these lessons is to be loving. Not to love others on the terms and conditions of man, but to love unconditionally, to love as God loves. It is only Him I seek to please with my whole heart, with a life committed to Him. Now, let my “keep it 100,” I am not perfect, there are times I truly fail, but it is in those times, I am able to tap into God’s grace and continue to run my race towards purpose and destiny. As you read these words, it may sound lofty or pious, but it is a daily choice; a choice to live a life I love. To live a life, I can look back on years from now knowing that once I learned better, I did better.Truly, this is all I can ever ask; to love my God, my life and my children to the fullest, to make manifest His glory and to leave an indelible mark on the lives of others along the way. The bible shows examples of Jesus interacting with people throughout His ministry and He never left them the same way He found them. People were talking about Him long after He left. Being a follower of Jesus, I just want to do what He did and the bible tells me, resoundingly, I CAN! Some days, I just pinch myself because this is my life, I get to do this every day...What? WOW!!! I really do LOVE my life. In addition to my role at Living Word, I am also an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ., in the College of Business. Since it is a Christian University I get to share my faith when I teach, just like I get to do at church. It is a great life, not because things have been easy, but because God has remained faithful and His promises have remained true. The wisest choice I have EVER made in my life is to say yes to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to lead me. The bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). See, I get to drive, but I allow the Holy Spirit to navigate, to use His map, His best plan for my purpose. I have learned to partner with Him instead of being my own worst enemy by working against Him and it has made all the difference. I want stories of my love for God, my faith in Jesus and my dependence on the Holy Spirit to speak for my life many years after I go home to be with the Lord. I want to build a legacy of love, faith, and grace that others can follow. I started this article saying that I am beautifully flawed, a diamond forged in fire, the fires of life. Like a diamond, it is in the pressure of its creation that makes it strong. Everything I have been through has made me who I am - multi-faceted . . . with inclusions that show my failures, but brilliance that shows my triumph. To God be the Glory!

Living Ephesians 5: Wives, Respect your Husbands
By Nancy C. Anderson
My husband, Ron, admits that he used to be a jerk, but I discovered a concept that turned him into a loving husband: I started treating him like a VIP. Ron always wanted me to respect him, but I thought he had to earn it and I had to feel it, before I could do it. Wrong. We women are very good at pointing out our husbands’ faults and failures and punishing them for not meeting our needs, but that only leads to discontent and distance in our marriages. We all know that yelling, nagging, and belittling are disrespectful and ineffective. So I’m suggesting a radical concept: Treat him like a king, and eventually, he will begin to treat you like a queen. Instead of waiting for him earn your respect, behave respectfully and watch him grow into the man God designed him to be. Thirty-eight years ago, our marriage was on the brink of divorce. I was controlling, critical and disrespectful so Ron was defensive and angry. We were both Christians but neither of us was living a spirit-filled life. I was letting my emotions determine my actions and thought it was Ron’s job to make me happy. But through a series of miracles (read my book for the whole story) we made a decision to rebuild our marriage. We went to a Christian counselor who read Ephesians 5:33 “Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband” and said “Nancy, the only way you will win Ron back and stay married is if you begin to respect your husband.” I knew he was right so I swallowed hard and came up with a plan. Here are three of the ways I began to respect Ron: They are easy to remember because they spell out the goal -- to treat him like a V.I.P. Respect him Verbally, Intellectually, and Physically. Verbally Cut out (okay…cut back) complaining and add in compliments. If you want to have a peaceful, happy marriage, learn the art of the compliment. Compliments are like magnets and the more you compliment your husband the more he will be attracted to you. Begin to notice when he does it right and verbally encourage him by complimenting him at least once a day. If you are having a hard time thinking of anything to admire, consider these categories: physical traits, mental skills, financial strengths, spiritual growth, or healthy relationships with others (children, parents, or friends). You may be asking “Hey, why should I compliment him when he NEVER compliments me?” Because, if you want your marriage to grow and bloom, you’ll have to water it with kindness and encouragement. Then, as he sees your sincere efforts, he will begin to change too. Don’t give up.
If you do need to bring up a difficult issue, place it between two compliments, also known as a “Compliment Sandwich.” Here’s an example, “Honey, I know how hard you work for our money and that Sally’s braces will be expensive, but I need your decision before her appointment tomorrow. I hope we can do this for her, but if you want to wait, I trust your judgment. What should I tell the orthodontist?” Intellectually Men like to solve problems and fix things. So appeal to his intelligence by asking him to help you solve a problem. Instead of saying “This garage is a mess, clean up your camping stuff!” Try, “I’d like your help with something. Could you figure out a storage system for all the camping supplies?” Don’t imply that he isn’t smart. Instead of saying “I think you are wrong about…” Say, “I’m confused about…please explain it again” (Remember to keep your tone of voice sarcasm-free.) Request his help on spiritual matters too. Ask him to explain a passage of Scripture or ask him to pray for you when you are going through a difficult time. If your husband is not the spiritual leader in your home, continue to pray for him and ask him if there is anything you are doing that is hindering his relationship with God. Men don’t give a lot of weight to feelings -- show them facts and they’ll be more likely to listen. For example: if he wants to buy a car that you think is too expensive, don’t launch into a hissy-fit, instead, write out your monthly expenses and ask him what other things should be cut out in order to buy his car. Let the facts speak for you. When you cannot reach an agreement, instead of trying to wear him down by nagging or crying say, “Is that your final decision or can I still try to convince you?" If it’s his final decision, then honor it. It’s freeing — let him carry the responsibility of your family. Physically Physically -- ask what he would like you to do and then, do it. Find out what his top three needs are. Ron likes the laundry done, physical intimacy a least twice a week, and he likes me to keep my “girly-make-up stuff” off of the bathroom counter. If these top needs are met, he’s more content and easier to get along with. I know it sounds simple, but each of us have different things that make us feel loved and appreciated. You won’t know what he wants unless you ask him. Be aware of your body language. You can communicate disrespect by rolling your eyes, crossing your arms, or slamming doors. Reflect your new decision to respect your husband in your heart, mind, and body. Change your attitude and actions Respect is both a verb and a noun: an action and an attitude so begin today to respect your husband in thought, word, and deed. He will be more willing and able to give you the love and affection you need if he is respected and admired. When I began to respect my husband, he was skeptical at first. However as he saw that I was committed to change, he began to treat me differently — lovingly. We now teach at couples’ events, helping others discover the blessings of true love in action. Ask the Lord to strengthen you as you obey His word. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Taking a Second Look
I’m in my sixties and have prided myself in having good eyesight. However, I discovered I have fallen prey to the ravages of that malady of, in the words of my optometrist, “too many candles on my birthday cake.” Glasses?! Oh, all right, I’ll wear them just for reading. Upon procuring my new eyesight enhancement objects, I was amazed at what I was reading. The words became so much clearer; they actually took on new meaning as I didn’t have to guess at the words I was reading because they were fuzzy. This was exactly what I was doing with God’s word; looking at His word with fuzzy thinking. God had to force me to take a second look at His word – to see what it was really saying. His method was tragic but opened my eyes to perceive it in an unexpected way. My only son was the light of my life. I waited a long time for him (I was forty), but when he came, I was overjoyed. We did all kinds of activities together – snowboarding, bike riding, basketball to name a few. I was so looking forward to watching him grow up, get a girlfriend, go to college, and see what career he would choose. Of course, as a parent, I had some plans for him but also was eager to see what talents God had given him and how He was going to use those talents in his life. Unfortunately, I never got to see any of those things come to pass. God had other plans for him and for me. Scott began to change as he came into his middle teen years. I didn’t notice the subtle changes at first, thinking it was just the normal journey teens go through in trying to discover who they are. One of our conversations brought it out into the open. “Mom, I know I should have been a girl,” he told me point blank. After my heart finally left my throat and I could speak, I pressed further. “How do you know?” With no hesitation and looking me straight into my eyes, “I’ve known for a long time, just didn’t tell you and Dad. I knew you’d freak out. I may be a boy on the outside but I’m a girl on the inside. I’m transitioning.” My world just crashed. I knew nothing about this condition, transgenderism. I knew where I needed to go, though. I went immediately to the throne of God and pleaded with Him. I had a vision in my mind that reflected my emotions as I came before my Father. I pictured myself as a little girl, holding her precious doll. She approaches her Daddy, sitting on His chair. He looks tenderly down at her. With tears streaming down her face, she extends her arms and says, “Here’s my baby – he’s broken. Will you fix him, please?” Through the next two years, I constantly came before my Heavenly Father with that plea. We sent out prayer requests to other churches, prayer groups, anyone we thought would help us make this an urgent appeal before God. I clung to all the prayer passages that said if you just have faith you would get your request, or if you have little faith as of a mustard seed you could accomplish great things; I just knew if we all had that kind of faith and trust in God’s promises my son would be restored and God would be glorified because of it.
That was how I was looking at God’s word and that was my plan for God to resolve my problem. However, my vision of those promises was fuzzy. Because I had grown up in a Christian home, I learned all those verses at an early age. I could recite them and they would roll off my tongue eloquently. Later, I would even teach on prayer; I had it down pat as far as knowing what I thought God’s word said when it came to a crisis. Counseling other people when they got into trouble was no problem – I had all the answers for them. I had a lot to learn, though, about the deeper understanding of those verses. My time had now come –but where was the comfort of those scriptures when it seemed God had not heard nor listened to my pleas when He took my son? He allowed Scott to take his own life at age nineteen. For the first time I stumbled in my faith. God, where were you when I needed you? Didn’t you hear my prayers – those that the Holy Spirit brought before you because I was in so much pain I couldn’t utter them? Didn’t you hear the prayers of those Godly people? I needed you!I sought desperately to hold on to the faith that was slipping away. Then, God brought me back to His word. As I began to revisit those passages that dealt with prayer and those people who cried out to God in times of despair – the disciples in the boat, the woman touching Jesus’ robe, the centurion – they all got their prayers answered. Didn’t I have the faith they did? Then I looked at Paul and Jesus. Certainly, if there was anybody that had faith it was Paul but he didn’t get the answer he wanted. Jesus cried out to the Father in the garden, “If it be possible let this cup pass from me.” But the next line caused me to take a second look at those prayer passages. My spiritual vision became clearer. “Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done.” I had come into all those scriptures with the forgone conclusion that God would answer my prayers in the affirmative. I was not looking for any other possibility. When I saw this picture of Jesus, pleading with His Father, I suddenly realized I was praying amiss. I lacked the submissiveness to God’s will. God opened up my eyes to another dimension that I needed in my life. I needed to trust beyond a shadow of a doubt everything I had learned about who and what God is, not just a shallow knowledge of verses. I finally came to the point where I had to totally believe every word of God’s promises. As I began to really look and see what they meant, God revealed more of Himself to me in a way I never thought possible. Taking Him completely at His word, trusting that He means every word, and can carry out all He promised gave me a joy in my relationship with Him that I never expected. I have become thrilled with my corrected vision! I would challenge you to take a second look at God’s word. Are you looking at it through the lens of your own anticipation on what you want God to do? Let Him clear it up for you by first submitting totally to what His plan is for your life – you, too, might find unexpected joy. Since the moment I chose to follow Jesus, He has consistently led me into deeper arenas of love and faith requiring ever-increasing obedience on my part and greater dependence upon Him. My husband, Michael and I married in 1987 and have three beautiful daughters. In the Fall of 1990 we began Improbable People Ministries, a ministry of music and healing. Even as God used our songs and stories as vehicles of healing, salvation, and restoration in other people’s lives, He also started dealing with our own brokenness. It was not an easy journey and along the way there were pockets of deep hurt the Lord relentlessly and lovingly brought to light so that I might surrender them to His healing touch. Sometime in 2006, a friend shared about her upcoming ministry tour in Germany. As Jewish believers in Jesus, we both came from a culture of strong feelings about Germany, but she felt the Lord leading her there. She shared that her young German hosts became very upset when she revealed she wanted to visit a former concentration camp. When she explained their reaction, I felt my own soul heat up with anger. I began to passionately intercede for my friend, but in the midst of all my eloquence and emotion I heard a whisper… “How do you think the Germans feel about what happened in the Holocaust?” It was not a question I had ever considered. But the thought haunted me. It took time—3 years of processing, including two trips to Germany and Poland, before God birthed the vision in my heart which I called,“A Tour of Roses.” So, in 2009 we started and gave out hundreds of long stem red roses to the people in the streets of Dachau, Bergen, and Oswiecim (Auschwitz). Every rose had a special card attached that read: "A Rose of Remembrance Red for the blood of the people who died Red for the Savior’s blood which was shed for your people and mine. Red for His love, which makes love between us possible." The response was overwhelming. One man prayed to receive the Lord on the streets of Oswiecim. Many received our roses with grateful tears and hugs. Over the years we have brought thousands of roses, worship and prayer to the streets of Krakow, Warsaw, Jedwabne, Berlin, Munich, Mauthausen, San Bernardino, Belfast, and Brussels. Then in 2016, we went to Jerusalem and Bethlehem and did the same. But perhaps the most historic project happened in December of 2017.
Walking in the Love of God on the Front Lines
Sally Klein O'Connor and the Tour of Roses
Having successfully led a team of 16 people last year to Bethlehem and Jerusalem, to hand out 7500 roses, I expected a similarly sized team for the December project. But while praying with my dear friend, Mary Makarios, she felt the Lord reveal the team would be small—4-5 people at most. It was not what I wanted to hear, but when it came time for the trip, there were 4 of us, and Danny from Holy Land Missions, who additionally comprised the December team. Another pre-tour revelation occurred the week before the departure. I was cruising my yahoo mail account, noticing some headlines when I encountered an article stating President Trump would be making a special announcement on Monday December 4thpossibly revealing the US Embassy in Israel would be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. We boarded the plane as planned on Tuesday December 5th and landed in Tel Aviv amid the immediate aftermath of President Trump’s decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem. We decided to go into Manger Square where, just hours before they burned the American flag and images of President Trump. All the shops were closed and we weren’t sure where to park. But we had extreme favor because of our friend, Akran, who knew the man handling the Nativity Church Parking. He let us in. The man in charge of the parking felt it was very dangerous for me to sing especially. He thought the roses might be okay, but my singing wasn’t. I realized we needed to prayer-walk first. There were kids selling hot cups of corn kernels in the square. We bought some to warm up, and continued praying. As we did, Danny ran into a very good friend of his, Naif, a Muslim taxi-driver. He helped get us police covering and security, and for almost an hour we worshiped and gave out roses in Manger Square. On Friday, the 4th day of the trip…Even before the crowds let out from the mosques at noon, we were able to "seed" Manger Street with roses, kindness, and the love of God to shopkeepers and pedestrians who ventured out, despite the 3-day strike. Later that evening, with Danny, we met Mohammed in a shop in Beit Sahour. He read the card on the rose and asked why we were here and not in Jerusalem. I said, “I am Jewish and I felt God put it on my heart to bring the roses only to the Palestinians right now.” He was very touched and asked Danny and I to wait in his shop as he ran down the street. In about 10 minutes he came back smiling with a liter of Coke and two chocolate candy bars. We toasted in plastic cups to peace…Mohammed—a Muslim, me—a Jew who believes in Jesus, and Danny. Only God could orchestrate such a profound and simple moment in the midst of such anger and chaos. The next morning about 60-70 Palestinian women braved their way through blockades, rioting—even tear gas—to participate in our little Something Beautiful for Someone Beautiful Conference. With demonstrations happening only blocks away on different sides of the church outside, Marlys, Sharon, and I shared our testimonies, with the help of our wonderful translator, Tuline. We went again to Manger Square and the reception was quite wonderful, but in-between smiles and appreciation—even selfies in some cases—there were some who were unhappy the rose cards were also in Hebrew. In Jericho, we carefully, prayerfully decided to have lunch in the town center first and then pray through the square. Everything went well. We even met up with the police and they agreed to let us give out roses.

People loved the roses. We must have given out 300. But after the roses were gone and we got into the van to drive back to where we were staying, a police car started following us. Eventually they led us out of Jericho and told us it was not safe for us to stay in Jericho. We packed up and left the next morning. As a result of praying together we felt the Lord leading us to The Father’s House in Jerusalem. During our stay in Jerusalem we gave out roses across from the Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem. We chose toward the end to enter the Israeli police station. Only one officer was on duty—a young man. He was very appreciative. There was one other officer at the station, but he was getting lunch. We left a rose for him. Afterward I encountered three young Muslim women (teenagers probably) and handed each a rose. They were delighted. They asked where we were from and read the cards. They wanted to take a selfie with me, but a man across the street started yelling at them in Arabic. He sounded very angry. The one girl who spoke English fairly well asked if I was with the Israelis. I said, “I am from America.” She asked, “Why is there Hebrew on the card also?” I said, “We want everyone to read it and learn how to love each other.” The man was still as she and I were talking. I asked what he was saying but she didn’t explain. I said, “I don’t see labels. I see people and God loves people.” She said, “I don’t think so,” and she and her two friends handed their roses back to me and walked away. On our way out of Jerusalem, we stopped at the flower shop where we got the roses. Avi, the owner, is Jewish. I told him about our last wild adventure with the roses at Damascus Gate, and added he had a part in it all because of the beautiful roses he procured for us. I saw him looking at my hoodie and asked if he wanted it. At first, he demurred, saying, "But it's your hoodie. You should keep it." I said, "if you really want it, I want you to have it." He read the blessing on the back and just seemed to consider... when I gave Avi the hoodie, he looked at me for a moment and then said, "Thank you for coming!" So, my hoodie is in Jerusalem with Avi. Maybe God will remind him every now and then of why we came and stir his heart to know who Yeshua really is.

Pam Christian: A Compassionate Warrior in High-Heeled Shoes
Watch Pam's brand new show "Faith to Live By" at hsbn.tv
I am grateful that so many people experience the genuine compassion I have for them. It’s born out of a life of tremendous hardships, continually met by the faithfulness of God. Early in my Christian life, I prayed to God to let me be known as a woman of faith. Had I known what I would have to go through for that prayer to be answered, I honestly don’t think that would have been my prayer. However, what I’ve gained for going through all that God’s helped me overcome, I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’ve learned in order for faith to grow, there has to be opposition. Just as with muscle, if our faith is not exercised, it cannot grow and will actually atrophy. I’ve learned the enemy of God roams about seeking whom he can devour. He’s a liar, a thief, and is ever working to cause people to suffer sin, sickness, disease, and death—the very things Jesus died to deliver us from. So, it pains me greatly to know the vast majority of people, including Christians, don’t operate in the victorious, abundant life that is available. I want people everywhere to discover and live in the same life-giving truth I’ve been blessed to find. No one wants to live their life on the basis of lies. Yet, unless we examine what we believe we can be deceived and not know we are. It is the nature of deception that the victim is unaware—which is the enemy’s tactic. I didn’t realize I was deceived until one night in my deepest despair. Sobbing uncontrollably, I recalled the words of a Sunday School teacher I heard as a little girl when I attended church with a neighbor. I found myself praying, stating if God was really who the Sunday school teacher said He was, that I was willing to give my entire life to Him to make something good of it. I’d clearly proven on my own all I could do was make a mess of my life. I admitted up to that point in my life, I wanted to believe in Jesus to keep me from Hell, but He was far from Lord of my life. The moment I sincerely prayed I sensed God’s overwhelming love wash over me. Then I understood, the victorious, abundant life is available only to those who genuinely receive Jesus as both Savior and Lord. I was just weeks short of turning thirty years old and I’d finally discovered the love I longed for all my life. To make up for lost time I immersed myself in everything I could to learn about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and what it is to live the Christian life.
That intentional study allowed me to successfully get through tremendous hardships including deeply broken relationships, false accusations, life threatening debilitations for me and my children, long-standing financial loss, and more the enemy hurled my way to defeat me. I never once considered giving up on God. I’d learned that with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26) so it followed that any time we give up on anything we’re giving up on God. The rewards I have seen for resolutely believing God are tremendous with more rewards yet to come. God led me down a path to develop my faith, and allow me to help others discover the freedom and victory we can have in Christ. Through books, radio, and television I learned from some of the best, C.S. Lewis, A.W. Towzer, and excellent pastors and teachers which increased my hunger to learn more. Beginning in 1991, I taught Bible study for Community Bible Study, an interdenominational, international organization. That generated invitations to speak nationally. I then completed a certificate course in apologetics with Biola University. Next, I was inspired to host a live Christian radio talk show without any training, resulting in me hosting in two major markets. I had never once personally aspired to do any of these things. Instead, God inspired me, compelled and equipped me. I obeyed and the results have been miraculous. Because of this path, when I was prophetically told I would be on television, I didn’t doubt it. Instead, I knew the best thing was to become trained for hosting television. While waiting for God to reveal how television would unfold in my life, God inspired me again. I read an article by ABC News that spoke of Americans being surprisingly flexible about matters of religious faith. I expected to read that Americans are accepting of all sorts of different religions in our country. Instead, what I read was that Americans are taking different tenets of different faiths, mixing and matching them according to their own preference. I became enraged knowing the enemy of God has infiltrated people with deception. Without any plan or experience, I found myself writing a book in response and while writing it, I realized there’d be at least two more books in the series. I named the book series,Faith to Live By. Through a series of events, the Lord allowed me to meet Dan Story who with an MA in Christian apologetics, being an author and teacher has become a special mentor. Getting endorsements is part of the book-writing process, so I aimed high. Imagine my surprise when Josh McDowell agreed to endorse the first book in the series—and when Dr. Charles H. Kraft agreed to endorse the second; followed by Bill Johnson, Dr. Richard Land, Dr. James W. Goll, and Dr. Craig Hazen agreeing to endorse the third. While I’ve served as co-host or guest host for other television programs, now, in 2017, I’m realizing the fulfillment of God’s prophetic word. I’m in production of my television show called Faith to Live By—the same title I gave what’s turned out to be my award-winning book series. I never imagined that I would host a show, let alone it be distributed by the Holy Spirit Broadcasting Network initially reaching nearly 40 million viewers in 189 countries. Learning that Barna Research Group reported only three percent of Americans have come to the end of themselves as I did that one night long ago, to give their lives to Jesus as Savior and Lord, breaks my heart. I am compelled to spend my every working hour doing what I can to help others learn about and embrace all that God has for those who will believe. Pamela Christian Ministries was formed in 1997 offering teaching and speaking. In 2003 the ministry was expanded to include all forms of media. In 2017 I was ordained as an international, itinerant minister. My ministry approach is not to tell people they are wrong, or tell them what to think. Rather, I ask them to join me in an effort to reconsider what they believe with a desire to confidently know their life is based on truth. I long to reach millions for Jesus, to not only help them discover salvation, but how to live in the glorious, abundant, victorious life Christ died to give us. Diane Hunter
“Have mercy on me, LORD, Son of David, I have been cruelly oppressed, afflicted long, and have tried everything I know to be free.” But He did not answer me a word. “Did He hear me?” I wondered “Does He care?” “Will He deliver me after all these years?” Then those closest to Him, annoyed by my desperation, implored Him to shun me—casting me off again. But for this I stand grateful; for it was this, this very injustice that spurred Him to speak. Him speaking, ignited my faith; for it showed me His heart. He is for me. He cannot, He will not, be silent in the face of injustice. He answered. The words He spoke seemed like a wall, but through His eyes I saw a door. He was inciting me, beckoning me. I went back to the only place I knew: He will not tolerate injustice. He had to know that my delayed healing, and unfulfilled dreams, have thwarted a freedom and abundance in my life. Chronic pain is a cruel injustice. So, with locking eyes, I pleaded boldly, “LORD, help me!” Again I saw this paradox. His words said, “No. It’s not time.” “No? It’s not time?” I could have gotten angry. I could have been insulted, offended even. But in His eyes there was no offense… As He spoke the “no,” I saw an invitation in His gaze. Would I pull on His goodness, justice, and mercy that abound outside of time? Or, would I let my painful history and experience dictate my response? As His words hung in the air, He leaned in. Ever so slightly, but I saw it. There was something more… like He was expecting—hoping for—a response.

I felt like I had nothing. How does one respond when the Deliverer says, “No. It’s not time”? But then, I stepped in. I stepped into the door of His eyes. Somehow just looking at Him filled me with strength and hope, and brought a clarity that I’d never known. Secrets are revealed in this secret place I found. His gaze gave me the courage to respond… “Ah, but Your eternal mercy is so great and Your goodness so abundant that it spills over into time. As I live in You—Your being—Your justice and Your fullness make this, by default,my time. In You, it is my time to receive what You came to give.” He smiled and said to me, “Yes it is, and that is the key. I, and all My glory, will forever exist outside of time, but as you live in Me, in time, you have access to it all. Your faith is great, and it shall be done for you as you wish.” And I was healed, delivered, set free, and fulfilled at once.Matthew 15:21-28

My husband Jerry and I moved to Phoenix, Arizona a year ago from Southern California. We had followed the leading of the Lord when the opportunity presented itself to oversee the new HSBN television and radio studio in Arizona. God provided the space and had told us to come but you could not help but wonder how it was all going to work out. After the construction stopped we had both a radio and television studio. You could feel the excitement in the air. God was up to something and it felt big. We began to meet the amazing people and ministries from the local Phoenix area. We soon realized that Arizona has a lot going on for ministry. We have met former NFL players who pastor, people who minister to millennials, people making a difference to the unwanted living on downtown streets, people who lead worship, teachers who make the Word come alive, women that minister to other women trying to pick up the pieces of their life. We sometimes sit in awe of the mighty men and women of God who are so powerful in the kingdom and yet so warm and unassuming when you meet them. The Healing Power of Learning to Forgive
God has so many ways to bring us healing. LEARNING to FORGIVE is one of the biggest and most important. Learning to forgive heals the soul (the mind, will, and emotions), the spirit, the memories, perspectives, and the body. It also restores the heart’s ability to love and reconcile. In the book of the prophet Isaiah, the Lord says, “I will heal your broken thinking.” I LOVE that! Wrong or broken thinking can make us sick; sick in our soul and spirit, and that can leak over into our bodies. God defines “broken” differently than we do.If our thinking doesn’t align with His Word, it is broken, and can harm us. When serious attacks come at our family, our children, our livelihood, or especially the health of our own body, with a diagnosis that has words like “possible survival rates” attached to it, it is time to really seek the counsel of God, and to ask “Have I in any way left the door open, or knocked down Your hedge of protection Lord, to let the enemy in to be able to strike such a blow at me?” Especially if the medical news, along with ensuing surgeries, has hit you up the side of the head twice in under 11 months…can anybody out there relate? How do we DO that? How do we seek the counsel of the Lord? By re-prioritizing and making time to get still, open our Bible, and come to the Heavenly Father with a seeking heart…a heart that is more willing than ever to really hear, be guided, and corrected deeply. I’m not talking about grab a daily verse out of the promise box on the window sill, and for those of us who are genuine students of the Word, I’m not talking about our daily 30 minutes to an hour devotional study time…I’m talking about beyond that. I have found many times in life that a wise question to ask God is “Have I had any responsibility in what I may be facing or dealing with?”, and if so, to then ask for God to show me where repentance is needed. A few months ago, I did ask that question, and He revealed the culprit was UNFORGIVENESS…I drew my breath in and said, “Show me every bit of it, no matter how subtle, that may be trapped anywhere in my heart, and let’s GET IT OUT!” There is surgery that doctors do on us, with scars to show for it, but then there is the surgery that God does, deep in the heart. The amazing thing is, He leaves no scars. Often His “surgery” brings tears, but they are cleansing, helping to wash a heart clean to make it light again.
The Lord revealed layers of UNFORGIVENESS in my heart toward three people, two of whom are family members. Layers of hurt, heartbreak, resentment, and stuffed-down anger due to feeling very betrayed. This was all hidden under “good efforts," “sweet attitudes," “loving gestures," “giving of time," etc. on my side of the equation in my commitment to be a loving person and honor Christ. That is why I didn’t catch or realize that unforgiveness was still there inside me. Trust me, if you knew the details, you would say “Well, you have every RIGHT to have all that in there, my goodness! How have you ever managed to make the efforts you have when the issues were so significant, and apologies and recompense should have been extended to you!?” God revealed a very pointed truth: The layers of things stuffed down in my heart WERE the cancer and were simply manifesting in my body as dis-ease, and the UNFORGIVENESS was the open door, the “crack in the dyke” as it were, that the enemy was hoping to use for my destruction. The Lord healed my heart by showing me that FORGIVENESS is a priority above all else. Without it, true AGAPE is not flowing, prayers are hindered, blessings are also hindered, and there is a slow eroding of soul that can eventually pollute the well-being of the body. This isn’t theory, dear reader, this is “spoke it to my heart” revelation from the Lord. Since I had already read every book on forgiveness I could find to cope with years of emotional and psychological abuse, and stepped out by faith and acted in love despite the internal pain, I really had to ask the Lord “How? Where do I go from here to have a pure heart?” Jesus answered my question through a phone call of encouragement from a friend, and then, as I prayed more, I got this picture: I saw Jesus standing by a well, and I realized somehow, He WAS and IS the living well. He said, “Lean over and reach your arms as far as possible into the well, all the way up to your armpits." As I did so, I saw the well was full of His blood, and His forgiveness. Jesus showed me I could borrow from the abundance of His forgiveness toward me that is in His shed blood…. That I could reach into that well of His powerful forgiveness and in my heart and with prayers DO what Jesus teaches (“Pray for those who hurt you, mistreat you, and despitefully use you.” Matt 5:44). I could imagine myself flinging His blood and loving forgiveness all over the people who had done so much harm to me, WHILE SAYING OUT LOUD“I FORGIVE you (saying their name) with the abundance of FORGIVENESS with which Christ Jesus forgives me." I could do it over and over until not only was I clean and free, but so were THEY in and by the power of the Holy Spirit as I prayed. He showed me what I utterly lacked in my own ability, I could borrow from HIS ABILITY and POWER TO FORGIVE. Then the Lord showed me to take it one step further and to SPEAK LOVE over each one of them daily in prayer, saying “I choose to LOVE (their name) with the abundance of love with which Christ Jesus lavishes on me” and then to pray for their well-being, blessing, salvation, and growth in Christ. The results in my own heart and temperament have been wonderfully freeing, transforming, and more healing than I could have ever imagined. I am so grateful to God for His correction, and for showing me His Son as a Resource for FORGIVENESS in a way I had never seen before.

So often in January we make resolutions to get healthier, release those extra holiday pounds, and exercise more. We hit it hard and heavy for a couple of weeks, maybe even a month, then we kind of fall back to old habits. Now it is almost March (oh no) and you are frustrated and probably mentally beating yourself up! Well, you don’t have to. I was praying about what recipe I could offer for this article and was lead to offer some easy suggestions instead to get you back on track. I want to remind you that God’s on your side – he wants you to live a full and healthy life. 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us: "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Keeping that in mind, are your actions living up to that? Is it time to reset some new goals? I bet it is. How about making some realistic, short term goals. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed with the big picture – so it is better to think about making small incremental changes. Ask God to help you make just one healthy choice a day, i.e., drink more water and eliminate a diet or regular soda each day, your body will thank you. Regular soda is filled with sugar and diet soda is filled with so many harmful additives – plus they trigger cravings for more sweet things. That’s not helping you. Do you have a sandwich for lunch? Try having it without the bread. If you go out to lunch with friends order a hamburger without the bun, a turkey sandwich without the croissant and ask for sliced tomatoes instead of fries. And hold the cheese too. You will cut down on extra fat and calorie dense simple carbs and guess what? You will enjoy the ‘fillings’ more and will feel satiated and even proud of yourself. If you order a salad – watch the croutons and extra cheese. Ask for the salad dressing on the side or substitute lemon instead. Lemon slows down the release of the glycemic index of the food, is a great substitute for salt and really enhances the taste of the food. Did you know that just 2 tablespoons of dressing has 200 calories in a serving? Think about finger foods for snacks – carrots and celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, radishes, hard boiled eggs. If you need something sweet – have a bowl of berries. A trick that I use is freezing grapes – just two or three grapes at a time, they are sweet and take awhile to ‘melt’ and are very satisfying. Have a small apple with nut butter or a Greek Yogurt. Your body needs protein to burn calories. Also, try to stay away from processed foods. The fresher, the better, and you know you need to exercise – a body in motion stays in motion. Find something that is fun – that is why I love bouncing on large exercise balls – it never gets boring and the extra benefit is that you are building your immune system up by moving those lymphatic fluids.

Also, deep, purposeful breathing is so easy and effective and oxygenates your body and brain. I will be praying that these words will encourage you. Keep your heart centered on Our Heavenly Father – ask Him to guide you, to help you and to use you. A favorite Bible verse of mine is Isaiah 40:31: …But those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will rise up on wings like eagles; They will run and not grow weary, They will walk and not be faint. (and from the song) ‘Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait’ One last thought – I always love to give thanks to God for another New Year – so with that in mind – I offer you something to think about: Two Thousand EIGHTEEN Expect to experience God’s Miracles working all around you! Invite God to work through you every day! Give Glory to God every day for the things He has done. Have an ongoing conversation with your Father in Heaven each & every day Tell people about God’s Promise of Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ Encourage others to take their burdens and lay them at the Cross Express your love and gratitude to God for waking you up each and every day! Never let go of the Hem of His Garment! Now, until next time, may the Good Lord shine His Love down upon you – I will be praying for you, dear readers. Love and Blessings, Joyce Goodman

" Christine has just returned from her missionary trips to Haiti and Mexico where she fed the hungry and cared for the sick while sharing Jesus Christ to the underprivileged." The following is an excerpt from Christine's article titled "No Fear." Have you ever noticed that children are not born fearful of anything? Fear is acquired by all of us. I remember when my daughter was two years old. We had just moved to a new house, a model home, and we were standing on the balcony over our backyard where the builder had planned for the future owners to put in a pool. At the time, however, it looked like a miniature golf course. My daughter looked at her father and I and asked us if she could jump down there. Needless to say, we never put a pool in that house or any other house we lived in! What I just described to you was a fearless child. We recognized that in her early on and we started to inspire her to remain fearless. Today, she is one of the bravest human My position has and will always be that fear has no place in you, your business, or anything you beings I have ever known. She will kill a bug and scream at the same time! At 20 years old, she has become such a beautiful soul. Prosperity and stability do not thrive where fear dwells. Although it is important to use wisdom when making decisions or embarking on new adventures, be aware of the presence of fear that could creep in. The cemetery is full of treasures in the form of great inventions that could have been invented, books that could have been written, destiny’s unfulfilled all because of fear. Fear is a thief and has a way of grabbing a hold of you. They say, a little bit of paranoia can't kill anyone, but let me be the first to tell you that fear can start the process, so don't allow it! These days, fear is rampant; in the business world, the uncertainty at the market place, the unstable and careless ways people are conducting their lives and business affairs affect many. Don't get trapped in that doomsday attitude that is so very paralyzing your business world. Remain steadfast on what you set out to do! Be determined to be the best you can be, and for the sake of your future, stand firm and say NO to fear! Do you find yourself always making excuses as to why you cannot make decisions? Do you refuse to let others know what you are truly thinking? Is it impossible for you to believe that your situation can change for the better? Are you often feeling alone in a losing battle? Are you thinking that you will never succeed? Are you getting very good at self-sabotaging? These are some of the questions I would like you to ask yourself. A little self-examination can really bring you on the road to self-discovery, which in turn will take fear away from you! The most effective way to start this process of self-examination is to recognize that at one point or another we will all encounter fear. If you are going through a fearful episode in your life right now, be assured that this can be a temporary state. You do not have to live with that fear forever! Ask yourself this one thing – “Why do some people seem to bounce back easier than others from fear or life’s adversities?” It is not by accident and it is not because they are better than you. One of the common denominators of such people is that they are believers in living intentionally! Watch Christine's show "H.A.U.N.T.E.D" at HSBN.TV

When people’s behaviors reflect childish antics or excessive playfulness, the usual responses of those who are witnessing or directly affected by these types of behaviors are often reflected in statements of observation such as: “He or she needs to grow up!” or “He or she is so childish and silly!” Oftentimes, these types of behaviors are associated with immaturity and lack of growth and cognitive experience. Maturity is defined in The Webster’s New World College Dictionary as: the state of being full-grown; ripe; or fully developed. Through experience, most have come to the understanding that just because a person looks or appears mature, doesn’t mean that the mind or the soul and the spirit of the person are truly mature. Immaturity can actually be masked or cloaked by facades such as: false security, confidence, endless and gross comedic gestures, violence, and a host of other riotous destructive conducts. Many look at the ages of “out of control” individuals and assume that because they appear to be old enough to exhibit appropriate behaviors - that they automatically should; however, many soon understand that age alone does not govern actions. In this regard, many unsuspecting targets are generally taken aback and become irritated by these child-like behaviors. Immaturity, like a carefully constructed spider’s web, lures its victims into a place of unforeseen vulnerability, and then proceeds to spin a web of folly and absurdity around its prey. Sadly enough, the fall-out from immature actions has cost the Body of Christ many precious relationships and valuable opportunities by imposing offensive and very callous actions for others to endure. Quite often, these individuals are oblivious to their own ridiculous antics and destructive ways. “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 I believe there is a spiritual correlation in the way that both maturity and immaturity are perceived in an individual person – as well as The Body of Christ. I believe this subject matter needs to be carefully examined - as it relates to the overall growth and functioning of the church. How is it possible to understand the maturation process of the Body as a whole; after all, the Body is scattered throughout the Earth? How do we know what maturity looks like? If we constantly see immaturity, how do we know to raise the bar of expectation? Here are some very practical examples of both spiritual immaturity and maturity:

Morning Manna Ministries
Evangelist Roseanna Roman
My name is Evangelist Roseanna Roman and I am the Founder of Morning Manna Ministries. I've had to work through many adversities of my own, living with years of anxiety attacks, guilt and shame over abortions, being ruled by negative emotions, raising a handicapped child who was on life support for over 19 years and died at 31 years old, a rebellious teenage son, an abusive and addicted spouse, persecution and exclusion from fellow believers. However, I learned all these adverse situations have worked for my growth, development, benefit, and the furthering of the Gospel of Christ! Through all adverse seasons and harsh times, I have learned to advance in adversity and thrive in the Valley of Tears! At Morning Manna we teach women how to advance in adversity, progress in pain, and move forward despite hardships. Isaiah 43:2 is our Ministry Verse: "When you pass through the waters I will be with you, when you pass through the rivers they will not overwhelm or overtake you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned neither will the flame kindle upon you!" God in His sovereign predetermined decision, now calls women who, in times past, scattered one another and now calls and uses them to become agents of unity to train and develop a fierce army of transformed women! God is raising up an army of women who: Have been through the valley and the shadow of suffering and have developed a mental toughness, a soft heart, and a deep abiding relationship in their secret place with their Heavenly Father! God is raising up an army of women who: Identify, know, and recognize their enemy. Women who don't war against one another in criticism, competition, or comparing but who join forces and come against division, racism, gender inequality, and denominational superiority! God is raising up an army of women who: Understand the heart of God and unite! United, we will take ground but, divided, our ground will be taken! United, we will overtake but, divided, we will be overtaken. United, we are a powerful force but, divided, we're driven by an opposing force! God is raising up an army of women who will advance His kingdom and establish His domain upon the Earth! Women who know His still small voice and tie themselves to His will, suffer long until the individual believers and the Body of Christ grow in maturity to take their place in destiny to reach a lost and dying world. To this very cause, Morning Manna is committed to continuing to teach women to gain God's perspective on suffering, enduring, persevering, in fiery furnaces without giving up or giving in! God is raising up an army of women warriors for Christ! Fear can be defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Fear often brings on overwhelming emotions that can hinder or even prevent us from living out our purpose and the destiny in which we were created for. Fear will sometimes prevent us from having healthy relationships with family, friends, and others in the body of Christ. Fear can even prevent us from taking steps of faith in our gifts and talents. There are many fears I have had to work at getting free from in my life. Some of these include; fear of man, fear of lack, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of public speaking, fear of death, and so on. Can you relate to any of these fears? Some of them have been mild fears and some have been absolutely paralyzing at times! I have had to work at finding freedom from each of these fears though tools offered in the Word of God. How Do We Find Freedom From Fear? First of all, we must recognize where fear comes from. There are natural and healthy fears that are actually built inside of us that can protect us from danger and keep us safe. However, most fears are actually from the kingdom of darkness meant to steal our peace, kill our joy, and destroy our purpose. "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 Fear is a spirit that comes directly from the enemy of our souls. We cannot address a spirit on a natural level. We must combat it on a supernatural level with a supernatural power. Secondly, pray and declare God’s promises! We must be willing and active in embracing a life of prayer. The Bible clearly explains that prayer produces great power! "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much" (James 5:16) Let me be a bit more specific. When we are combating a specific fear, we can take God’s promises for us in that area and start declaring them over our lives. Here are a few examples of what God’s word says when facing certain fears. Fear of Lack – And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) Fear of Rejection – “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. So, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Heb.13: 5-6) Fear of Death – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Ps.23: 4) When fear grips us, we can take the word of God and insert it over situation. Then, we must get bold in our prayers and speak out these promises of God over our circumstances and in our lives. Thirdly, use the weapon of worship. Worship enables us to overcome whatever challenge we have before us. The most effective praise comes when we are solely focused on Him. We come into agreement of who God is and His power at work in our lives.
Freedom From Fear
"Maturity is not always evident in the ability to voice your opinions, but it is consistently noted in your willingness to respect others and their opinions." -Dr. Daphne Burleson
Immaturity: ·Lack of judgment and godly wisdom ·Lack of proper restraint ·Lack of understanding ·The inability to express thoughts, opinions and feelings ·Exhibiting jealousy and envy ·Bullying ·Motivated by competition Maturity: ·The ability to process godly wisdom (Ephesians 1:15-19) ·The ability and grace to nurture and raise others up to mature levels in Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-2 and 16) ·The ability to bring things into proper perspective by the leading of The Holy Spirit. (John 16:13) Just as there are countless varieties of fruit trees growing all over the world, the process of nurturing/cultivating the different varieties remains extremely intricate and consistent throughout the Earth. For those who carefully see these trees to full maturation or fruitfulness, every detail of the process is important: proper watering techniques, nutrients, sunlight, love and protection from extreme elements, and especially predators. It is the vineyard keeper’s responsibility to carefully see the seedlings grow into fully mature fruit-bearing trees. In the Body of Christ, all of the aforementioned details are very similar, in order to see fruit that will remain – we must see all of God’s children as important enough to hover over and care for – like precious seedlings planted by Our Father. Let’s look at scriptures to see what the Lord has provided as a governing rod for growth and maturity in the Body of Christ: "But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Ephesians 4:7 “And He gave some apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors, and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and the cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head even Christ.”Ephesians 4:11-15 In these verses of scriptures, the grace to fulfill fruitfulness is the foundation of the process of all of God’s creation into maturity. The five-fold ministry gifts, operating in grace, love and the anointing, were given to the Body of Christ to help raise the stature and standards of excellence and accountability, as individuals begin to promote and excel in The Kingdom of God. This excellence and anointing promotes a collage of colorful and very unique platforms - with which the Holy Spirit will begin to transcend the mundane to exuberant displays of God’s creative goodness. Everyone will begin to blossom and mature under these conditions of Holy Spirit combustion! There will be minimal misunderstandings and fall-out, because maturity will begin to command the atmosphere to the glory of God. Like a perfectly designed, eco-friendly greenhouse, the right conditions and the Word of God, meet the seedlings where they are, and life comes forth in the abundance and fully ripened to the glory of Christ Jesus!

"Let the high praises of God be in their mouths, and two-edged swords in their hands" (Ps. 149:6). Fourthly, put on courage! Courage is”The ability to do something that frightens one.” or being motivated from the heart to do something brave. King David is an example of one who had gone through many trials, loss, and disappointments. In Psalm 17:14, he instructs us “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Again, we cannot do this in our own natural ability or how the world views courage. Worldly courage relies on human abilities and motives such as; the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (James 1:19-27; 1 John 2:15-16). However, Godly courage relies upon the supernatural power of God to strengthen and motivate believers to be courageous as children of God. To live out our purpose in God, we need this supernatural power that brings strength, passion, and a supernatural courage to live fully for Him. I am seeing many believers today not live in the godly courage as the Lord intends because they are overcome with discouragement. Discouragement deprives of confidence, hope, or spirit. It’s disheartening and daunting. It makes something less likely to happen or can influence a person and cause them to less likely do something. It is a feeling of having lost hope, confidence, and at times, disappointment. Discouragement is the enemies most used tool to stop believers from living out their purpose. Why does he use it so much? Because it works. There are different levels of discouragement including; ·Mild discouragement can occur when a person experiences minor problems or pressures that affect his emotions. ·Strong discouragement can occur when we face major problems or pressures. This level of discouragement affects our spirits and others start to notice that something isn’t right with us. ·Disabling Discouragement can be experienced if problems or pressures around us or in our mind completely overwhelm us. This is a more severe type of discouragement that can lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts. It drains us of spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical strength. When this happens, our hearts “melt” within us, and we have no desire, energy, or ability to go on. We need godly courage to supernaturally overcome our fears. Therefore, we must take up the word of God and replace our discouragement with the courage that only comes from the supernatural power of the Most High God. Finally, break off intimidation! Often the thought of facing what you fear can be very intimidating. Have you ever felt intimidated in a situation? Intimidation actually induces fear by making one feel frightened or threatened enough so they will do what you want or force into or keep someone from doing some action. Remember this phrase: “What you allow to intimidate you, can manipulate you, and then will dominate you!!!“ But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear their intimidation; do not be shaken." (1 Peter 3:14- Berean Study Bible) This means when intimidation comes, we don’t have to fear it. God wants us to rise up and battle against any intimidation we might be feeling. Therefore, next time fear grips you... don’t try to figure it out in your own natural ability. Pick up these spiritual tools and fight against fear in prayer and worship. Remember, God has not give you a spirit of fear so don't let it reside in your life by allowing discouragement or intimidation to just come and hang out.
