We celebrated the dedication of the new church in La Gloria, Petén.
In June we will begin to lay the block for the church in San Juan de Dios.

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37
In February we hosted a ladies mission team from Peace Haven Baptist Church. We had the opportunity to work with several of our city ministries. It was a great week for us as we shared the Gospel with Apóyate En Mí (Christian school), Operación Rescate, (street ministry), Casita Benjamín (daycare), and El Oasis (prostitute ministry).
In April, Bobby and one of our ministry partners, Chris Cox traveled to La GLoria, Petén to attend the dedication service for the new church. Over 200 people were in attendance and Bobby was able to share God's Word with the congregation and visitors. Pastor Antonio is excited about having a larger facility and looks forward to reaching more people in the community.
Bobby and Chris went to San Juan de Dios where they worked with Pastor Vicente to began the construction of a new church. They, along with a crew of six Guatemalans, dug the footings, formed the steel columns, and poured 11 cyds. of concrete. The working conditions were challenging as they endured 104 degrees most days. One of the highlights of the week was the last day when Bobby met with the workers at 5:30 am to pour the concrete. Bobby was able to share the gospel with the workers and illustrate the importance of building a church on the foundation of God's Word by placing a Bible in each corner of the foundation before the concrete was poured. It was an incredible moment to witness and a reminder of how God uses every opportunity to shine His light into this dark world.
We are excited to host a construction team in June from Hickory Grove Baptist as we begin the next phase by laying blocks for the walls. We can't wait to see what God does in San Juan de Dios.
